Senior Food Scientist - Vow

Vow is Australia's cultured meat company, growing real animal meat from animal cells instead of whole animals. As Vow's first food science hire, you will be responsible for establishing our food science function, defining workflows and building a team - an incredibly important role. You'll be working closely with the Science team to iterate on food products, turning biological breakthroughs into incredible culinary experiences. You will take incredible new food products all the way from idea to product-in-market, solving a whole swathe of global issues in the process.

AIFST Student Members Seeking Volunteer Work 

Annelise Sarikas

My name is Annelise, and I am a third year student at UNSW studying a Bachelor of Food Science and Technology. I am seeking to gain some hands on work experience in the industry to well equip me for when I graduate. I am keen learner who is fascinated by anything and everything food related. I would love the opportunity to come and volunteer and be of help for a food company especially during these difficult times. Please see my attached resume. 

Surin Kitithongsopon 

I am a recent graduate in Food Science and Technology (Honours) from UNSW and looking for a volunteer work with a food processing or manufacturing company.  I have interests in finding new applications for existing but overlooked technologies, innovative product development using traditional and self-sustainable methods, in addition to quality control and assurance. In my Honours research, I worked with Gate Gourmet (Sydney) to research, develop and trial a novel approach to preparing Hollandaise and other emulsion base formulae, that enabled the stability of emulsion based sauces during freezing, thawing and heating and their use in frozen meals, that was also proved to be less expensive than established methods.  I have 15 years’ work experience as a flight attendant with Qantas that has equipped me to work effectively as a member of a multicultural, linguistically diverse team, as well as working alone and self-directed in a time sensitive environment.  Volunteer work in food processing, food science, food quality assurance or any food related sector would help me build work experience and the practical skills to enter the food industry. During the COVID-19 crisis, I am eagar to help by contributing my assistance, enthusiasm and skills to the various needs of our industry.

Collette Arnheim CV

Collette has a wealth of experience in health, fitness and food.  She is a qualified Dietitian and current food science student who is currently working within a coaching role in community health.

Collette is looking for work experience in the food industry, to gain some experience and use her transferable skills in changing career pathways. Collette is a skilled project worker is business minded having run her own business and has several years work experience to draw on. She has terrific communication and leadership skills, is a fast learner willing to put her best foot forward. Collette is also a keen foodie who is passionate about all food and can watch the cooking channel all day for inspiration on her next meal.
